How does an alcoholic help himself? It is the worst question if you think that alcoholics have reached rock bottom, and may not even realize how to start getting out of the terrible situation they are in. Start doing interesting hobbies and healthy activities. They will get your mind off alcohol and remind you there is more to life than drinking. You will begin to value the things around you more, and your body and mind will appreciate the stimulation. Sports are a great way to exercise both the body and the mind, and it usually means having to work with other people whom you can count on and share the importance life and health. Surrounding yourself with people who know how to have fun the right way is one of the best ways to spend your time.
Seek for professional help. There are many experts who have dealt with so many cases and forms of substance abuse and addiction, and they will be able to understand you best. They will help you assess your situation and help you come up with an effective plan to combat the dangers of going back.
