Quitting Drinking

Now we all know how scary the effects of alcoholism is, it is only right to do everything we can to put a stop to it. A lot of people have been affected by alcoholism and it has truly robbed them of their peace of mind and happiness for a long time.

Yes, it is always a struggle when you’re Quitting Drinking Alcohol. Quitting drinking alcohol is sometimes twice as hard as being an alcoholic. Quitting drinking when you see the rest of your family and friends enjoying their glasses of wine can be hell.

And yet the tough gets going when the going gets tough. If you want to put a stop to the misery that alcohol is giving you, you need all the will, determination and mind power that you can get. Alcohol will sabotage your life in a way you could never imagine. It will change you as a person – and not in a good way.

The best way to battle alcoholism is to think of the bad times you’ve had with it. Think of all the vomits, all the headaches, stomach aches…they were not fun, right? Remember all the fights, all the stupid things you said that hurt others.

If you do not like the man you have become because of alcohol, it is time to let go of that man and embrace a better person. You need to reclaim the good in you once again. You need to go back to that path where self-respect is vital to your being.quitting_drinking

Second way is to think all the dirty effects of alcoholism. By imagining beer as urine, you would feel disgusted upon the sight of it. If you see wine, imagine it as blood. What is important is that you are using creative visualization to your advantage.

Third is to focus on the positive effects of being alcohol-free. Imagine how prettier or more handsome you would be if you start cleaning up your act. And the sooner you act on it, the better your life and your future would become.

Quit Drinking before sinking – rock bottom. Take a hold of what you have and what you will lose because of this downward spiral.

Alcohol Drinking Causes

We have talked about alcoholism and why there is a need to stop it and yet, we have no idea what causes it anyway. The only way we can battle successfully against it is if we understand why it happens.

Alcohol Drinking Causes a lot of big, painful blows to an alcoholic. Alcohol drinking causes a lot of stress and unhappiness to the alcoholic’s family. Alcohol drinking causes detrimental health problems too.

So without much ado, here are one of those reasons why alcoholism happens:

  • Genetics. Some people are just more prone to alcohol. An imbalance in the brain can truly make someone vulnerable to alcohol. PD*10368572
  • Emotional reasons. Why one suffers from a high level of stress, pressure or misery, this person usually drinks a lot to block or numb the pain that he is feeling.
  • A low self esteem can also be a trigger point for someone to use alcohol as a way to solve this insecurity.
  • Having a partner that is an alcoholic is another reason why someone abuses alcohol.
  • “Drinking is cool” – usually, it is the younger generation that falls into this trap. Those kids believe that when they drink, they are glamorous and hip.

Again, how would you know when you are an alcoholic already? What are the signs and symptoms of being one?

  • You drink alone or secretly in your room. Or yes, you go to a little bar that no one recognizes your face to avoid confrontation.
  • When you start forgetting important commitments or just day to day conversations due to mental “black outs”.
  • There is always that need to drink…excessively.
  • You get irritated when there is no alcohol for you to consume.
  • You start having problems with your finances and personal relationships.
  • You have a secret bar in your home where you keep your supply of alcoholic drinks.

So if you think you have what it takes to be a “possible” alcoholic or if you are slowly getting into that path, you must find a way to battle it this early! Alcoholism is a slow death – fight it with all your might.
